Cynthia Bolon

Dr. Cynthia Bolon is an Associate Teaching Professor of Chemistry at Missouri University of Science and Technology. With over two decades of experience in both higher education and secondary education, she has held roles including Lecturer (2006-2015) and Latin Teacher at Rolla High School (2000-2005). Her work spans chemistry education, Latin scholarship, and Science Olympiad leadership as Missouri Region 5 Regional Director since 2017.

  • PhD in Nuclear Chemistry (2006, University of Missouri – Rolla)
  • Master’s Degree in Latin (2004–present, University of Florida)
  • BAIS in Chemistry, BFA in Fashion Design, Minors in English & Psychology (1996, Columbia College)

Research Interests focus on nuclear chemistry applications in astrophysics, particularly nucleon interactions for solar energy modeling, and classical Latin studies. Her teaching philosophy emphasizes inclusivity across race, gender identity, religion, and ability, as evidenced by her Inclusion Statement.
