Cydney Cherepak

Cydney Cherepak is an Assistant Professor of Illustration at the Kansas City Art Institute, where she mentors young illustrators. She holds an MFA in Illustration and Visual Culture from Washington University in St. Louis and a BFA in Illustration from the University of Central Missouri. Her artistic practice explores themes of growth, wonder, exploration, character development, and communication through diverse media including comics, printmaking, zines, and sketchbooking.

Her clients include XYZ Type Foundry, The Riverfront Times, Big Brothers Big Sisters KC, Kansas City Magazine, and BarkleyOKRP Advertising Agency. She regularly participates in national events like Kansas City Zinecon and St. Louis Independent Comics Expo (SLICE), fostering community through illustration and storytelling.
