Cybele Rowbottom is a Lecturer in the Division of Communications, Screen and Performance at the University of Chester, United Kingdom, since 2018. She previously held an Hourly Paid Lecturer position at the University of Salford from 2015 to 2018. Her teaching spans undergraduate and postgraduate levels in TV and Media Production.
Her research focus lies in television genres, particularly Nordic/Scandi Noir, where she has identified an emerging subgenre she terms 'Forrest Noir'. Cybele is currently pursuing an MRes while maintaining her academic and industry contributions.
Award-winning in her media career, she has produced and directed programs for major networks like BBC, CH4, and Sky1, including highlights such as The Joy of Curry (BBC2) and the award-winning The Return of ‘Allo 'Allo! (BBC2).
