Curt Löfgren is a Senior Lecturer in Economics and an Associate Professor in the Department of Epidemiology and Global Health at Umeå University. His research focuses on health financing in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs), particularly addressing catastrophic health expenditure and household protection mechanisms. He has a PhD in Public Health, emphasizing global health economics and policy.
His research interests include health systems strengthening, economic evaluations of healthcare interventions, and equitable financing strategies. Notable projects include the development of the KAMSO health economic tool for decision-making in resource-poor settings and studies on malaria treatment cost-effectiveness in Ethiopia.
