He holds a habilitation from ELTE (2017) and earned his PhD from ELTE in 2002 with a dissertation on 'Education and narration in the European novel.' Horvath has published extensively from 1995 to 2025, with recent work exploring epimodern Hungarian literature, contemporary narrative structures, and the relationship between literature and philosophy.
