Crystasany Turner

Crystasany Turner is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Teaching and Learning at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. As a third-generation early childhood educator, she brings over a decade of experience as a preschool teacher and administrator from her family’s nationally accredited childcare business. Her teaching philosophy emphasizes care, cultural pluralism, and linguistic diversity, rooted in Black feminist epistemologies.

Her research interrogates institutionalized anti-Blackness and systemic oppression of marginalized groups, prioritizing narratives of Black and Latina women in education. She has authored articles and book chapters reflecting these themes.
