Dr. Crystal Goldyn is an Associate Professor in the Science & Mathematics Department at Mount Aloysius College, joining in 2014. She teaches Genetics, Microbiology, and Anatomy and Physiology courses. Her research focuses on morphological and biochemical characterization of ubiquitin specific proteases (UBPs) in Arabidopsis thaliana, combining bioinformatic/phylogenetic analyses with experimental techniques like plasmid construction, mutagenesis, and protein purification.
Education: B.S. in Biology (University of Pittsburgh), Ph.D. in Genetics and Developmental Biology (West Virginia University).
Research Interests: Investigates UBP conservation/divergence across species, gene domain functionality, and post-translational modifications.
