His research spans philosophical therapy, authenticity studies, bioethics, neuroethics, and Foucault's philosophy. Iftode has established himself as a leading scholar in relational authenticity, examining how neurotechnologies impact narrative identity and exploring ancient 'technologies of the self' in contemporary contexts. His work bridges classical philosophy with modern ethical challenges, particularly in human enhancement and digital identity formation.
His most recent publications demonstrate a clear trajectory toward examining authenticity in relational and technological contexts, with numerous high-impact articles in journals like The Journal of Value Inquiry, Phenomenology and the Cognitive Sciences, and The New Bioethics. These works consistently explore how emerging technologies challenge traditional notions of selfhood and ethical agency.
