Crispin Coombs

Professor Crispin Coombs serves as Associate Dean for Research and Innovation and Professor of Information Systems at Loughborough Business School. A Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, he holds degrees from University of Wales Aberystwyth (BA), University of Manchester (MA), De Montfort University (MSc), and Loughborough University (PhD). His research group focuses on Information Management.

His research investigates the management of Artificial Intelligence and robotics for business benefits, including benefits realisation, technology-enabled empowerment, and organizational technology failures. Key interests include the societal impacts of automation, human-machine interaction paradigms, and the evolution of knowledge work in digital environments.

Publications demonstrate strong focus on technology transformation, particularly AI's impact on service industries and workplaces. Recent work examines pandemic-induced digitalization and ethical dimensions of emerging technologies. Scholarship bridges technical innovation with organizational strategy across healthcare, finance, and education sectors.
