Creighton Wright

Creighton Wright serves as Professor of Health Science and Founding Medical Director of the Physician Assistant Program at Mount St. Joseph University. A board-certified Thoracic and Cardiovascular surgeon, he currently holds the position of Vice President for Medical Affairs with Mercy Health while maintaining academic leadership in PA education since the program's inception.

His academic credentials include:

• M.D. and B.A. from Duke University

Dr. Wright's professional focus centers on advancing Physician Assistant education and cardiovascular surgical practice. Having trained under Dr. Eugene Stead, Jr. at Duke University during the profession's 1965 conception, he has recruited and trained generations of PAs throughout Cincinnati since 1981, establishing foundational clinical training frameworks that bridge academic instruction with community healthcare delivery.

His military service as a Colonel in the US Army during Desert Storm informs his leadership approach in healthcare administration, where he currently directs medical affairs strategy for Mercy Health while maintaining active academic mentorship within the PA program.
