Craig Townsend is Associate Professor and Chair of Geography, Planning and Environment at Concordia University. His research examines transportation systems, urban form, and land protection policies across global contexts including Canada, Australia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, and India.
Research Focus: Primary investigations include transportation policy impacts on urban form, characteristics of Canadian metropolitan built environments, urban sprawl containment through legal land protection, and urban planning challenges in developing economies. Current work includes a project on urban mobility in India.
