Craig Schroer

Craig Schroer is a Professor and Systems Librarian at the University of West Georgia (UWG Library), serving since 2011. Previously, he worked as a Latin American Area Studies Librarian at the University of Texas at Austin for two decades. He holds a BA in Music Education, an MA in Music Performance, and an MLS in Library and Information Science.

His research focuses on News Media Literacy, Cultural Literacy, Critical Thinking, and Rhetoric. He is affiliated with the American Library Association (ALA) and the Seminar on the Acquisition of Latin American Library Materials (SALALM). His office is located in Ingram Library, Room 323, with office hours for Chat Reference (Monday 2–4pm) and Pop-Up Research Desk (Thursday 2–4pm).
