About
Dr Craig Dedman-Jones is Lecturer in Environmental Science at the University of Plymouth's School of Geography, Earth and Environmental Sciences. His research examines marine ecosystem responses to environmental change, particularly ocean warming effects on phytoplankton as foundational components of marine food webs and biogeochemical cycles.
Specializing in ecotoxicology, his work investigates nanoparticle and microplastic impacts on marine microbes including cyanobacteria Prochlorococcus. Recent publications analyze thermal bleaching mitigation, coccolithophore responses to acidification, and nanomaterial ecotoxicology under environmentally-relevant conditions.
