Courtney Smith is a Professor and Dean of the School of Diplomacy and International Relations at Seton Hall University. He joined the faculty in 1999, received tenure in 2005, and served as Associate Dean before becoming Acting Dean (2019–2022) and later permanent Dean.
His research focuses on international organizations, United Nations studies, and peace studies. He has interviewed over 100 UN delegates and staff, published widely in journals like Global Governance and International Journal of Peace Studies, and authored the book Politics and Process at the United Nations: The Global Dance (2006).
