Corri Johanson

Dr. Corri Johanson (she/her) is a Lecturer in Psychology at the University of West Georgia's School of Social Sciences. She holds both a Master of Arts in Criminology (2016) and a Ph.D. in Psychology (2022) from the same institution.

Her research focuses on transitory and transformative experiences in substance abuse recovery, particularly examining how creative processes and aesthetic engagement enhance therapeutic outcomes. Her work bridges psychology, criminology, and qualitative analysis through phenomenological and life-narrative approaches.

Dr. Johanson has published two key academic works: a master's thesis exploring autobiographical narratives in female substance abuse recovery (2016) and a doctoral dissertation analyzing participatory aesthetics in long-term sobriety (2022). These publications demonstrate her sustained focus on creative recovery mechanisms across both disciplines.
