Corinna M. Fleischmann

Corinna M. Fleischmann serves as Dean of the School of Leadership and Management and Interim Professor in the Department of Management at the United States Coast Guard Academy (CGA). A licensed Professional Engineer and U.S. Coast Guard Captain, she has been a faculty member since 2004 and led the Civil and Environmental Engineering Program (2017-2021). Her expertise spans water resources engineering, coastal resiliency, construction project management, and engineering education.

• Education: Ph.D. in Civil Engineering (University of Connecticut, 2014), M.S. in Civil Engineering (University of Texas, Austin, 2004), B.S. in Civil Engineering (CGA, 1998).

Fleischmann’s research focuses on coastal resiliency, infrastructure risk assessment, and innovative pedagogies. Her work includes collaborations with the EPA and Homeland Security on biological contamination modeling, as well as developing hybrid labs and project-based curricula to enhance engineering education. Recent publications highlight her contributions to wastewater surveillance during the pandemic and integrating sustainability into coursework.

She is a Fellow of ASCE, ExCEEd, and ELATES, with certifications in sustainable building advising. Her career blends military service, academic leadership, and interdisciplinary research to address climate resilience and pedagogical advancement.
