Corine Labridy is an Assistant Professor of French and Francophone Studies at the University of Pennsylvania's Department of Francophone, Italian, & Germanic Studies. A native of Guadeloupe and translator, her work bridges literature, cultural critique, and digital humanities.
Her research explores:
- Afrofuturistic narratives in Martinican and Guadeloupean literatures
- Dystopian tropes in Antillean arts addressing environmental/social crises
- Black femme comedians' subversion of French universalist identity
She co-founded Kwazman Vwa—a digital platform featuring Caribbean authors—and serves as assistant editor for Imaginaries, an H-France-affiliated publication examining literature-history intersections. Her writings appear in Public Books, Small Axe, and other academic journals.
