About
Dr. Corey Bacal Switzer is a Senior Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Vienna's Kurt Gödel Research Center for Mathematical Logic, supported by an ESPRIT grant from the Austrian Science Fund as principal investigator. His research focuses on foundational set theory problems including cardinal characteristics, iterated forcing techniques, and their applications in topology and combinatorics.
Education includes:
- PhD in Mathematics (CUNY Graduate Center)
- Masters in Mathematical Logic (Université Paris VII)
- Masters in Logic (Université Paris I)
- BA in Math and Philosophy (Trinity College Dublin)
Research explores algorithms and architectures for routers/switches, network bandwidth management, and internet service architectures. Current work addresses cardinal invariants and independence results through forcing techniques.
Awards include the ESPRIT grant, CUNY Mathematics Fellowship, and Austrian Forschungsförderungsgesellschaft Career Grant. Professional activities include organizing set theory seminars and conferences.
