Corey Andrews

Corey Andrews is a Professor of English at Youngstown State University, where he has served on the faculty since 2005 and currently holds the Ruth Grace Endowed Professorship in English (2024-2027).

His academic credentials include a Ph.D. in Eighteenth-Century British Literature from Ohio University (2000), with a dissertation titled "Paradox or Improvement: Literary Nationalism in Eighteenth-Century Scottish Club Poetry".

Dr. Andrews' research centers on eighteenth- and nineteenth-century Scottish poetry, with particular expertise in Robert Burns. His broader scholarly interests encompass laboring-class literature, Scottish fiction, transatlantic studies, women's travel writings, and reception history. His teaching portfolio spans working-class literature, eighteenth- and nineteenth-century British literature, poetry, textual criticism, and Greco-Roman mythology, including specialized courses on novelists like Jane Austen and Walter Scott.
