Corbin Hodges

Corbin Hodges is a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Department of Geography at the University of California Santa Barbara (UCSB), where he earned his PhD in 2020. His roles include researching poverty causes and sustainable human well-being, with a focus on post-secondary student stigma and Central American development dynamics.

Education: PhD (UCSB), MS in Biology (California Polytechnic State University), BS in Biology (Cornell University), and initial studies at Jamestown Community College.

Research Interests: Combines quantitative and qualitative methods to address poverty and well-being. Explores stigma around basic needs services among UCSB students, and examines food security, livelihoods, and gender labor market participation in Guatemala and Central America. Current projects include urban-rural food security response comparisons and household well-being analysis.

Awards: Recognized as a USAID Borlaug Fellow during his graduate studies.

Labs/Teams: Active in UCSB Geography Department research groups focusing on development studies and applied social research.
