Constantinos Grammenos holds the Lloyd's Register Foundation Chair in Shipping, Trade and Finance at Bayes Business School, City University of London. As Chairman of the Costas Grammenos Centre for Shipping, Trade and Finance, he founded the world-class MSc Shipping, Trade and Finance program and pioneered the 'spherical approach' in international business education. His research established Shipping Finance as a distinct academic discipline.
Research interests include shipping investment, risk management, and commodity trade finance, with seminal contributions to maritime economics. Recent work explores public/private equity markets in shipping finance.
Honors include royal appointments (CBE, OBE), international shipping awards, and fellowships from Royal Society of Arts and Chartered Institute of Bankers.
Current roles include Board Member of the Onassis Foundation and advisor to the UK Department for Transport's Maritime 2050 strategy.
