Conroy Sun

Conroy Sun is an Associate Professor at the College of Engineering, Oregon State University, affiliated with the Pharmaceutical Sciences department. His research focuses on Nanotechnology for Cancer Therapy and Biomedical Imaging, integrating material science and clinical collaborations.

• Education: PhD in Materials Science & Engineering (University of Washington, 2008), Postdoctoral Fellow in Radiation Oncology (Stanford, 2009-2014).

Research Interests:

• Developing Drug Delivery Platforms using nanomaterials to enhance cancer treatments.
• Pioneering Synthetic Biology approaches for Molecular Imaging, including X-ray Luminescence Computed Tomography (XLCT).
• Engineering Stimuli-Responsive Nanocarriers for controlled drug release and Photodynamic Therapy.

Collaborations: Key partnerships with Stanford's Molecular Imaging Program and interdisciplinary teams in Pharmaceutical Sciences.

Key Technologies: Radioluminescent nanoparticles, lipid-based micellar formulations, and Chlorotoxin-Conjugated Probes for Blood-Brain Barrier penetration.
