Dr. Connie Weaver is Distinguished Research Professor at San Diego State University and Distinguished Professor Emerita at Purdue University. She holds a Ph.D. from Florida State University (1978) with research focusing on mineral metabolism, bone health, and nutritional biochemistry. Her work examines calcium bioavailability, plant-based nutrition, and dietary interventions for osteoporosis prevention.
She directs multiple NIH-funded projects including studies on potassium retention, sodium reduction, and berry polyphenols' effects on bone. As founding director of Purdue's Women's Global Health Institute, she advanced research on women's cancers and neurodegenerative diseases.
