Collin Boothby

Collin Boothby is an Assistant Professor and Director of Choral Activities at Hawaii Pacific University in Honolulu, Hawaii. Prior to this role, he taught at the University of Southern California and Brazosport College, and served as Assistant Organist/Choral Director at All Saints’ Episcopal Church (Beverly Hills, CA) and Organist/Choirmaster at Trinity Episcopal Church (Houston, TX). He has led professional choirs since 2018 at Congregation Beth Israel in Houston.

• Education: Doctor of Musical Arts (DMA) in Sacred Music from University of Southern California (2024), Master of Music in Organ Performance from Rice University, Bachelor of Music from Texas Christian University (with distinction), and an Associate degree from Olympic College.

His research and creative work focus on choral music, sacred music traditions, vocology (voice science), and the use of historic instruments like the 1746 Hildebrant organ tested by J.S. Bach. He has performed at iconic venues such as Carnegie Hall, Canterbury Cathedral, and Washington National Cathedral.

Collin has collaborated with ensembles including the New England Symphonic Ensemble, Shepherd School Symphony Orchestra, and Ken Davis Chorale. As a conductor, he has led the USC Chamber Singers, Los Angeles Doctors Symphony Orchestra, and Brazosport College Chamber Singers.
