Collett P. Small

Collett P. Small serves as an Adjunct Professor of Law at St. Thomas University College of Law, where she teaches the Elder Law Clinic and Family Wealth Management course. She is a founding Partner of Slater & Small PLLC and holds Board Certification from the Florida Bar as a Specialist in Elder Law. Her leadership extends to the President of The Academy of Florida Elder Law Attorneys, former Chair (2017-2018) of the Florida Bar Elder Law Section, and current Strategic Planning Committee Chair for the same section. She also serves on the Board of Directors for the Weston Bar Association and the Professional Advisors Council for the Community Foundation of Broward.

Professor Small's professional focus centers on Elder Law and its intersections with Estate Planning, Guardianship, Probate, and Asset Preservation for Long Term Care Planning. As a Board Certified Specialist, she actively shapes legal education through frequent lectures, articles, and her role as immediate Past Chair of the Florida Bar Continuing Legal Education Committee. Her mentorship of law students and new attorneys statewide underscores her commitment to professional development.

She actively volunteers at law schools, bar associations, and community events while maintaining professional affiliations including the Weston Bar Association and Community Foundation of Broward.
