Colleen Starrs

Colleen Starrs serves as a Senior Lecturer at UCLouvain's Institute of Modern Languages in Louvain-la-Neuve, Belgium. She teaches English for Specific Purposes and designs/coaches diverse courses across Bachelor's and Master's programmes while contributing to university-wide pedagogical initiatives.

Her research examines metalinguistic strategies in second language listening comprehension and investigates how creative learning opportunities with cultural activities impact student motivation and engagement in language education. This work bridges theoretical linguistics with practical classroom applications.

She actively participates in the 'Langues et Cultures' working group that organizes multilingual and multicultural events fostering inclusive academic community engagement among staff and students.
