Colin Scott

Colin Scott serves as Registrar/Deputy President and Vice President for Academic Affairs at University College Dublin. As Professor of EU Regulation & Governance, he previously held deanships in Law and Social Sciences. His PhD and LLM were completed at LSE and York University respectively.

His research examines regulatory capitalism, accountability frameworks, and the transformation of governance in public administration and consumer protection contexts.

Publications critically analyze judicial regulation, administrative discretion, and higher education governance, revealing consistent attention to institutional design and regulatory innovation.

He contributes to national policy through roles at the Irish Research Council, National Economic and Social Council, and Central Applications Office.
