Colin Sapp

Colin Sapp is an Associate Professor of Guitar at Berklee College of Music in Boston, where he has taught since 2001. Renowned for teaching contemporary improvisation, his expertise spans a wide range of musical styles including jazz, rock, pop, fusion, funk, country, and blues. He has performed with notable artists such as the Backstreet Boys, Ally Brooke (Fifth Harmony), and GRAMMY Award-winning vocalist Kurt Elling. Sapp is an advocate for pedagogy and peer mentoring, with published articles and international masterclasses at institutions like Boston University and Brandon University. His YouTube channel, Inside Out Guitar, offers instructional content for guitarists. Endorsed by GHS Strings, he also received the prestigious Berklee Distinguished Faculty Award in 2020.
