Colin Richardson

Dr. Colin Richardson is an Assistant Professor in Business Information Systems and Data Analytics at Newcastle Business School, Northumbria University. He holds a PhD from the same institution and is a Chartered IT Professional (FBCS CITP). Prior to academia, he held senior data management roles in national and global organizations, including Head of Master Data at a water utilities company and Head of Marketing Data at a healthcare/life sciences firm. He also developed the NHS Child Health System and worked in local government and emergency services.

Research Interests: Focuses on advanced data modeling (studied at MIT), AI-driven data enrichment, master data management, and knowledge asset frameworks. His work bridges organizational boundaries to optimize data utilization in complex environments.

Awards: 2019 International Innovation Award for applying cognitive services in asset management.

Current Roles: Supervises PhD student Salman Hyder on digital transformation in Singapore's banking sector. Actively publishes on disaster risk reduction and emergency services.
