Colin Gorman

Colin Gorman is a Lecturer in Clinical Psychology at Ulster University's School of Psychology, within the Faculty of Life & Health Sciences. He holds dual appointments as Lecturer and has over 25 years of experience spanning statutory, private, and voluntary sectors, including roles in prisons, social services, and court-related psychological assessments. He is CEO and founder of Pneuma Healthcare, a university spin-out focused on mental health innovation and graduate employment.

Research Interests: Gorman's work focuses on digital mental health interventions, trauma, forensic psychology, and caregiver wellbeing. He emphasizes technology-driven solutions to enhance mental healthcare accessibility and efficiency, particularly in dementia caregiving and CBT availability. His recent publications explore crisis helpline outcomes and community-level mental health policy.

Conference Leadership: Co-chair of the International Digital Mental Health & Wellbeing Conference (2024, 2025 editions). Recipient of the 2024 Outstanding Interdisciplinary Research Team Award for collaborative work on digital mental health policy.

Advising & Innovation: Supervises PhD students in digital mental health and CBT accessibility. Leads Pneuma Healthcare, a platform for UU psychology graduates fostering innovation in mental health service delivery.

Labs/Teams: Central role in Ulster University's mental health research networks, collaborating extensively on digital healthcare projects and interdisciplinary teams.
