About
Colin Filer is an Honorary Professor at the Resources, Environment and Development Group within the Crawford School of Public Policy at the Australian National University (ANU). He holds a PhD in Social Anthropology from the University of Cambridge. His career includes teaching roles at the Universities of Glasgow (1975–1982) and Papua New Guinea (1983–1994), as well as leadership positions such as Head of the Social and Environmental Studies Division at the PNG National Research Institute (1995–2000) and Convenor of the Resource Management in Asia-Pacific Program (2001–2012).
