Colby McNaughton

Colby McNaughton is an Instructor in the School of Education at the University of Hawaii at Hilo (UH Hilo), affiliated with the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) and the Tropical Conservation Biology and Environmental Science (TCBES) department. His research focuses on teacher recruitment, innovative science education strategies, and community-based marine resource management through educational awareness. He teaches courses such as Introduction to Teaching, Integrated Science and Social Studies for Elementary Teachers, Professional Responsibility, and Field Experience.

Colby is part of the Social Sciences Division and holds office in the University Classroom Building, room 326. His work emphasizes bridging educational practices with environmental stewardship, particularly in coastal and tropical ecosystems.
