Clyde Haulman is a Professor of Economics at the College of William and Mary since 1969. He holds a Ph.D. from Florida State University. His research focuses on American economic thought, early U.S. economic history, Chinese economic reforms, and antebellum business cycles. He has authored a notable book, *Virginia and the Panic of 1819*, and published widely in economics journals.
Administrative Roles: Dean of Undergraduate Studies, Chair of Music and Economics Departments, Director of the Marshall-Wythe Institute for Social Research, and Assistant to the President. He contributed significantly to the Reves Center, American Studies Program, and Sharpe Community Partnership Program.
Awards & Honors: Fulbright Senior Lecturer, Distinguished Fulbright Scholar, Thomas Jefferson Award, and Phi Beta Kappa membership.
Community Involvement: Served four terms on Williamsburg City Council (Mayor from 2010–2016). Married to historian Fredrika Teute, with a daughter in academia.
