R. Clinton Webb is Professor and SmartState Chair in Biofabrication at the University of South Carolina's Department of Biomedical Engineering. His research examines vascular physiology in hypertension, diabetes, and urological dysfunction.
Research focuses on cellular mechanisms of vascular contraction, erectile physiology, and hypertensive organ damage. Published extensively on vascular signaling pathways and measurement standardization. Recent work explores toll-like receptors in vascular injury.
Recipient of major awards including the Irvine Page Lifetime Achievement Award and Excellence in Hypertension Research Award. Directs the Cardiovascular Translational Research Center.
