Clinton Moran

Clinton Moran is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biology at The Citadel, Swain Family School of Science and Mathematics. He teaches courses including Ecophysiology, Ichthyology, Fisheries Management, General Biology, and Anatomy and Physiology.

Dr. Moran's research focuses on ecophysiology, investigating how environmental conditions affect physiological performance in fishes—the most speciose group of vertebrates (~35,000 species). His work examines swimming, feeding, and muscle performance through combined laboratory and field studies, with applications to management. He also emphasizes education in biology and physiology.
