Clint Staley

Dr. Clint Staley is a Professor of Computer Science and Chair of the Computer Science Department at Principia College. With 35 years of combined academic and industry experience, he has taught at the University of California, Santa Barbara, Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, and Principia College for nearly 30 years. His expertise spans software development, software project management, and entrepreneurial ventures, including cofounding CustomFlix Labs (now Amazon's CreateSpace division).

His research focuses on improving software tools and pedagogical methods for STEM education, particularly in semi-automated and online instruction. He holds six U.S. patents related to technology development.

A member of the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM), Staley emphasizes the value of close student-teacher relationships and the spiritual foundation of education at Principia.
