Clint Randles

Clint Randles is a Professor of Music Education and Director of Commercial Music Ensembles at the University of South Florida School of Music. He joined USF in 2010 after nine years teaching in Michigan public schools. His affiliations include leadership roles in national music education associations.

Research interests center on transforming music pedagogy through creativity, songwriting, and technology. Key areas include:

• Reconceptualizing music teachers as producers
• Integrating recording arts into curricula
• Fostering 'multiple creativities' in classrooms

He has authored seminal books like Music Teacher as Music Producer (2022) and Growing Songwriting (2024), alongside 28 journal articles. His 2015 Michael L. Mark Award recognizes impactful early-career research.

Teaching includes directing the 'Holly Drive Collective' ensemble, graduate courses on creativity, and community outreach for students with disabilities through Arts4All Florida. He also composes for film/theater and serves as worship director at Lutz Community Church.
