Cliff Rosendahl

Professor Cliff Rosendahl is a faculty member at The University of Queensland (UQ), holding the position of Professor in the General Practice Clinical Unit within the Faculty of Health, Medicine and Behavioural Sciences. He is actively involved in teaching and supervising postgraduate research, including a completed Master's thesis on Biodynamic Excisional Skin Tension (BEST) Lines for Cutaneous Surgery.

His research focuses on melanoma diagnosis, dermatoscopy, and skin cancer management. Key areas include improving diagnostic accuracy via digital tools, AI integration in dermatology, and optimizing surgical techniques such as the modified UQ flap. He has contributed to over 116 peer-reviewed works, emphasizing clinical and technological advancements in skin pathology.

Professor Rosendahl advocates for primary care practitioners to adopt dermatoscopes and has pioneered studies on photographic surveillance, scalpel blade practices in surgery, and terahertz imaging for skin pathology detection. His work bridges clinical practice, education, and innovation, with grants including the Terahertz Quantum Technology for Melanoma Detection project (2024–2025).

His expertise spans melanoma overdiagnosis controversies, non-pigmented skin cancer diagnosis, and interdisciplinary collaboration in surgical standards. He actively collaborates globally, contributing to databases like the Skin Cancer Audit Research Database and training programs for general practitioners.
