Cliff Chestnutt

Dr. Cliff Chestnutt is an Associate Professor in the Department of Early Childhood through Secondary Education at the University of West Georgia's College of Education. Previously a K-8 teacher and Math coach, his research and teaching focus on High Leverage Teaching Practices, Culturally Responsive Mathematics, and Equity in Mathematics. He holds a BS from Salisbury University (2000), M.Ed. from Georgia State University (2005), Ed.S. from Georgia Southern University (2010), and a Ph.D. in Early Childhood and Elementary Mathematics from Georgia State University (2017).

Teaching responsibilities include courses such as Teaching Elementary Math, Math Content for Teaching P-2, and Professional Seminar. His courses emphasize practical pedagogy and clinical experiences. Office hours are Tuesdays 10am-1pm, with additional availability by appointment.
