Univ.-Prof. Dr. Clemens Jobst is a Professor of Economic and Social History at the University of Vienna's Department of Economic and Social History, part of the Faculty of Historical and Cultural Studies. He serves as Director of the Doctoral Programme for Historical and Cultural Studies and Vice-head of the Department. His research focuses on monetary policy, central banking, financial institutions, and quantitative methods, with a specialization in 19th and 20th-century economic history.
Key research projects include the analysis of central bank branch offices in the 19th century, the Austrian hyperinflation of 1921–1922, and the construction of historical time series for central bank balance sheets.
