Claus Lassen

Claus Lassen is an Associate Professor at Aalborg University's Department of Architecture, Design and Media Technology within The Technical Faculty of IT and Design. He is affiliated with the Section for Architecture and Urban Design, Danish Centre for Spatial Planning, and Centre for Mobility and Urban Studies. His primary research focuses on urban design transformation, mobilities, aeromobilities, and port-city relationships. Lassen leads key projects like the C-MUS PRAKSIS living lab and Port-City Relationships initiative. He has been recognized with the 2018 Danish Business Travel Associations (DBTA) Recognition Price for contributions to Future Cities and Airport City research.

His work examines airport-city dynamics, aviation labor perspectives, and spatial governance through over 80 publications. Recent studies include case analyses of harbor-city interdependencies in Danish coastal towns and global airport governance models. Lassen actively contributes to policy discussions through media engagements, such as his analysis of Ryanair's Billund route decisions and future airport developments.
