Claus D. Hansen

Claus D. Hansen is an Associate Professor at the Department of Sociology and Social Work, Aalborg University, affiliated with The Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities. He is a core member of the CASTOR research group focusing on sociological and criminological studies of social differentiation and control. His research spans over 20 years, with 92+ publications and 13+ projects.

Research interests include sickness absence, work environment, work accidents, masculinity studies, and gender differences. Methodologically, he employs both qualitative and quantitative approaches, leveraging surveys and administrative data. Key projects include analyses of men’s safety behaviors in construction (MARS project), comparative safety studies in Scandinavian construction (SveDan), and longitudinal studies on adverse childhood experiences and labor market outcomes.
