About
Claudius Hammann is a Professor at the TUM School of Engineering and Design at the Technical University of Munich. His research focuses on fire science, performance-oriented fire protection, and fire risk engineering, with particular emphasis on human-machine interfaces in fire safety.
Prof. Hammann holds a habilitation in building physics (in process) and a PhD in risk analysis of complex systems from TUM. His 15-year career combines practical firefighting experience with academic research, examining fire protection in contexts of building materials, energy storage, and aviation safety.
His publications analyze fire safety trends through statistical studies, regulatory evaluations, and structural fire behavior. Current work explores the effectiveness of prescriptive building codes and fire risk quantification methodologies.
