Claudia Luzar is a Professor of 'Social Policy and Political Education in Social Work' at the Catholic University of Applied Sciences Freiburg since March 2021. She holds a Dr. phil. from the Free University of Berlin (2015) and has extensive international experience in peacebuilding and conflict resolution.
- Expertise: Conflict/violence research, social policy development, political education methodologies
- Key roles: Project coordinator for Caritas Germany's Colombia/Venezuela emergency aid (until 2021), advisor to Colombia's National Reconciliation Commission (2016-2019)
Her research focuses on victim-centered approaches to right-wing extremism, socio-spatial intervention strategies, and peace processes in post-conflict regions. Conducts fieldwork in Colombia, Kenya, Kyrgyzstan, and Chile addressing migration, gender empowerment, and youth violence prevention. Active in NGO collaborations for psychosocial conflict counseling and dialogue facilitation between communities.
