Dr. Clare Peyton is an Associate Professor in Biophysical Chemistry at the University of Bradford's School of Chemistry & Biosciences. She joined in 2016 and holds leadership roles as Programme Lead for BSc/MChem Undergraduate Chemistry programmes (since 2019) and Interim Director of Studies for the School (since 2021). Her research focuses on post-translational modifications, peptide drug design using non-natural amino acids, and the role of isomerisation in neurodegenerative and cardiac diseases.
Her work is supported by grants from the Amyloidosis Foundation and the Academy of Medical Sciences. Notable contributions include advancing NMR method development, structural biology, and computational biophysics applications. She is a recipient of the 2021 Bradford Teaching Fellow award for innovative pedagogy.
