About
Professor Clare McArthur leads behavioural ecology research on foraging strategies of marsupial herbivores. Her lab pioneered 'olfactory misinformation' techniques that reduce wildlife damage to crops by 60-80% through scent manipulation.
Current projects include:
- Air pollution impacts on animal olfaction (ARC-funded)
- Personality-driven parasite transmission in urban possums
- Koala conservation through resource mapping
Fieldwork spans Australian ecosystems and international collaborations with African elephant researchers. She mentors 8 PhD candidates investigating sensory ecology and conservation applications.
