Clara Blessing

Clara Blessing is a Professor of Historical Double-Reed Instruments at the University of Music Würzburg and serves as Vice President, overseeing artistic practice, networking, and diversity. She is a renowned oboist specializing in period instruments across Baroque to modern eras, performing with ensembles like Concerto Köln and the Budapest Festival Orchestra. Her career includes solo, chamber, and orchestral engagements at venues such as the Berlin Philharmonie and Royal Albert Hall.

Education: Trained under Christian Schneider and Michael Niesemann, she earned a concert exam distinction from Folkwang University of the Arts Essen, supported by foundations including Studienstiftung des Deutschen Volkes and Deutsche Stiftung Musikleben.
