Claire R. Thomas is an Assistant Professor of Law and Director of the Asylum Clinic at New York Law School. Her expertise encompasses immigration law, asylum and refugee law, statelessness, and immigrant access to public benefits.
Research addresses protection gaps for asylum seekers, immigration policy impacts on children, public charge regulations, and statelessness issues. She established the Asylum Clinic, providing students practical experience in humanitarian immigration cases.
Professor Thomas has conducted research in Mexico as a Fulbright Scholar and serves on committees of the New York City Bar Association. Her publications address legal challenges facing immigrant youth and asylum seekers.
