Dr. Claire Li is a Lecturer in Accounting at Newcastle University (since November 2022) and Programme Director of the BSc (Management with Accounting). She holds a PhD (Accounting), MSc (Applied Accounting and Finance), and BBA (Accounting). Previously, she lectured at Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh (2021–2023) and worked as an auditor at PricewaterhouseCoopers, Hong Kong, followed by roles in corporate accounting at Dynasty Fine Wine Group (HKSE listed).
Her research focuses on Corporate Reporting (financial and sustainability), Digital Accountability, and the intersection of environmental governance with green innovation and climate technologies. She has supervised Doctor of Business Administration and PhD students and served as an examiner for doctoral dissertations across multiple institutions.
Key projects include exploring intangible assets and fraud in digitalized economies (2023–2025) and sustaining creative careers in Slough (2023). Her recent publications address AI-driven digital innovations, climate technology impacts, and green investment mechanisms under COP26 frameworks.
Awarded a Higher Education Academy fellowship, she teaches financial accounting, management accounting, and accounting theory at undergraduate/postgraduate levels. She actively collaborates with researchers globally on sustainability and digital accountability topics.
