Ciprian Daniel Neagu

Ciprian Daniel Neagu is a Professor of Computing at the University of Bradford, affiliated with the Faculty of Engineering & Digital Technologies and Department of Computing and Mathematics. He has held academic roles since joining in 2002, including Lecturer, Senior Lecturer, and Professor, with prior experience as an Associate Professor at the University of Galati (Romania) and a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow at Politecnico di Milano, Italy.

• Research interests focus on Responsible and Sustainable AI, with applications in Healthcare, Product Safety, Predictive Toxicology, Digital Twins, and Social Media.
• He leads the Artificial Intelligence Research (AIRE) Group and serves as academic liaison for the Turing University Network since 2023.

Professor Neagu has coordinated international conferences such as the 16th International Conference on Knowledge Science, Engineering, and Management (KSEM 2023) and IEEE ICMLA 2022. He is actively involved in editorial work as an Associate Editor for Expert Systems: The Journal of Knowledge Engineering and invited editor roles in journals like Springer Neural Computing and Applications.

His contributions to academia include:

• Senior Fellow of Higher Education Academy (AHE/HEA) since 2024.
• Committee member of the British Computer Society Specialist Group on Artificial Intelligence (2011-2013).
• External examiner for PhDs and academic programs across 15+ universities.
